Mini size, big challenge!
While maintaining the same quality of preamplification and recording, Cantar Mini brought us a portable size of the Cantar X3, thanks to a compact design, but keeping the original LCD screen and the 10-fader mixer panel from its elder brother.
Each side of the Cantar Mini has essentials functions! We had to find ideas to create a bag that keeps all of them accessible, holds firmly the recorder during fast moves and has some space for RF receivers.
A few prototypes have been needed for the final result and the choice of adequate fabrics.
« With great mini-size comes great responsibilities. »
This new design comes with an innovation: on the contrary of Cantar X3, Cantar Mini doesn't lie down at the bottom of the bag but is directly attached to a grommet on the ventral side of the bag. The two support hooks under the Cantar Mini got also their own fixation holes. This system ensures an optimum fit and grip inside the bag, allowing a large access to both battery slots.
Two pockets on each side of the bag can handle up to two RF receivers, Wisycom MCR42 or Lectrosonics SRb like, those ones are hold by large elastic strips stitched inside. Modulox clips are also available on the side of each pocket, allowing to put some Petrol type pocket for IFB transmitter(s) like Sennheiser G2/G3.
At the front of the bag, a large pocket can handle a battery NP type with its hot-shoe power adaptor, while keeping a nice space for storing lav mics or other essential shooting audio stuff.
This pocket is also large enough to host a double-autonomy Smart Battery to power the Cantar Mini thanks to the Dummy Battery designed and produced by DC Audiovisuel. Don't forget that the Dummy Battery should be inserted in slot 1 of the Cantar Mini.
Those all pockets are easily linkable thanks to large holes, allowing some heavy wiring between all stuff in the bag.
The whole bag can be protected with a removable translucent rain flap, keeping some space for hands to access all commands.
This new bag for Cantar Mini is already available for rent or sale at DC Audiovisuel.
